Locations
Locations are physical Metrognome facilities where customers book studios. Each location has its own address, timezone, pricing, and Stripe account. This guide covers managing locations in the staff dashboard.
Finding Locations
Go to Staff → Locations to see all facilities.
From the list:
- Use the search bar to find by name or address
- Use filters to narrow down:
- Type — Metrognome, Venue, Retail, or Competitor
- Status — Active, Inactive, Maintenance, or Coming Soon
Click any row to open the location detail page.
Creating a Location
Go to Staff → Locations and click Add.
The create form walks through five sections. Fill in the required fields and click Save.
Required for creation:
- Name — The facility name customers will see

- Status — Whether the location is available for bookings
- ZIP Code — Used for address lookup
- Timezone — Critical for displaying reservation times correctly

Editing a Location
Click any location to open its detail page. The form is organized into seven tabs.
Basic Tab

- Type — Read-only after creation
- Status — Controls visibility and booking availability (see Status Meanings)
- Name — Display name shown to customers

- Opened Date — When this location opened (used for reporting)
- Notes — Internal notes only staff can see
- URL Slug — Creates a public landing page at
metrognome.com/<slug>(e.g.,cherry-city→metrognome.com/cherry-city). Share this URL with customers or use it in ads — it's the primary link for each location
Address Tab
Physical location details. Getting the timezone right is critical—it affects how reservation times display to customers.
Use the Search Address field to auto-fill everything. It populates street address, city, state, ZIP, timezone, coordinates, and neighborhood from Google Places.
You can also fill these manually:
- Street Address, City, State, ZIP Code — Standard mailing address
- Neighborhood — Area name (e.g., "Old Town")
- Timezone — IANA format like
America/Los_Angeles. Must match the physical location - Latitude/Longitude — GPS coordinates for map display

Contact Tab
How customers can reach the location, and who manages it internally.
- Phone, Email, Website — Public contact info shown on marketing pages
- Community Manager — Staff member responsible for this location. This person receives waitlist inquiries, reservation help requests, and lockout notifications (creation, cancellation) for this location

- Main — The hero image shown in location listings and cards
- Floorplan — Visual layout of the space (helpful for customers choosing studios)

- Enter a title (e.g., "Enter through the main lobby")
- Optionally add a description and photo
- Choose who sees this step:
- All guests — Everyone visiting this location
- Specific area — Only guests in a particular wing or floor
- Specific resource — Only guests booking a particular studio
Drag steps to reorder. Customers see these in their confirmation emails and booking details.
Pricing Tab
Default pricing that resources at this location inherit. Individual resources can override these values.
Base Rates
- Monthly Rate ($/sq ft) — Used to calculate monthly studio prices based on square footage
- Hourly Rate ($/sq ft) — Used to calculate hourly booking prices
- Peak Multiplier — Applied during peak hours. Set to 1.5 for 50% higher rates, 2.0 for double, etc.
- Tier — Pricing tier classification for this location
Marketing Price Overrides
These control the "From $X/hr" and "From $X/mo" text on marketing pages:
- Min Hourly Price — Override the displayed minimum hourly price
- Min Monthly Price — Override the displayed minimum monthly price
Normally these are calculated automatically from actual resource prices. Use overrides when you want to advertise a specific starting price (e.g., for a promotion) regardless of what resources actually cost.
These affect the location's landing page, the global /hourly and /monthly pages, and location cards throughout the site. Both Active and Coming Soon locations are included when calculating the global minimum price.
Rounding: Monthly card prices round up to the nearest $5 (e.g., $147 becomes $150). ACH bank payments use standard dollar rounding.

- Insurance Available — Toggle on to let customers purchase insurance with bookings
- Insurance Mandatory — Toggle on to require insurance for all bookings at this location
