Resource Groups

Resource groups organize resources within a location by physical grouping—wings, floors, sections, parking gates, or entry points. They're used for access control (which doors open for which studios) and for organizing direction steps.

Finding Resource Groups

Go to Staff → Resource Groups to see all groups.

From the list:

  1. Use the search bar to find by name
  2. Filter by group type (Wing, Floor, Section, Parking Gate, Entry)
  3. Filter by location

Click any row to open the group detail page.

Creating a Resource Group

Go to Staff → Resource Groups and click Add.

Fields

  • Group Name — A descriptive name (e.g., "Red Wing", "Floor 2", "Main Entry")
  • Group Type — The kind of physical grouping (see types below)
  • Location — Which facility this group belongs to (cannot be changed after creation)

Group Types

Type Use Case
Wing A wing or section of the building
Floor A floor level
Section A specific area within a wing or floor
Parking Gate A parking lot gate
Entry A building entry point

Adding Resources to a Group

  1. Open the group detail page
  2. Scroll to the Resources section
  3. Click Add Resource
  4. Select a resource from the dropdown (shows resources at the same location)
  5. Click to add

The resource now appears in the group. Resources can belong to multiple groups (e.g., a studio might be in both a wing group and a floor group).

Removing Resources from a Group

  1. Open the group detail page
  2. Find the resource in the Resources section
  3. Click the delete button on that row
  4. Confirm removal

How Resource Groups Are Used

Access Control

Resource groups connect to access gates. When a customer books a studio in a particular wing, the system knows which doors to unlock based on the resource group configuration.

Direction Steps

When creating direction steps for a location, you can scope them to a resource group. For example, "Parking instructions for the Red Wing" would only show to customers booking studios in that wing.

Organization

Resource groups help staff understand the physical layout. The list shows how many resources are in each group and which location they belong to.

Deleting a Resource Group

To delete a resource group:

  1. Open the group detail page
  2. Click Delete and confirm

Unlike location groups, resource groups can be deleted even with resources assigned—the resources stay but lose their group membership.
