Resources
Resources are the bookable things in Metrognome—studios, equipment, storage units, parking spots, and more. Each resource belongs to a location and has its own pricing, availability, and booking rules. This guide covers finding, creating, and managing resources.
Finding Resources
Go to Staff → Resources to see all resources across locations.
Quick search: Press ⌘K and type a resource name to jump directly to it.
From the list:
- Use the search bar to find by name
- Use filters to narrow down:
- Status — Active, Inactive, Maintenance, Coming Soon
- Type — Hourly studios, monthly studios, equipment, etc.
- Location — Filter to a specific facility
Click any row to open the resource detail page.
Resource Types
Resources fall into two billing categories based on how customers pay:
Hourly Resources
Booked by the hour with per-session pricing. These integrate with Acuity for scheduling.
- Hourly Studios — Rehearsal rooms customers book by the hour
- Equipment — Rentable gear (mics, amps, etc.)
- Tours — Facility walkthrough slots
Monthly Resources
Ongoing subscriptions billed monthly through Stripe.
- Monthly Studios — Private lockout spaces with 24/7 access
- Storage — Storage units
- Parking — Parking spaces
- Mailbox — Mailbox service
- Amenity — Shared amenity access
Special Types
- Entry — Access points with no pricing. Used for door access configuration only.
Creating a Resource
Go to Staff → Resources and click Add.
The create form walks through four sections. Fill in the required fields and click Save.
Required for creation:
- Name — Clear, descriptive name customers will see
- Type — Cannot be changed after creation, so choose carefully
- Location — Which facility this resource belongs to
- Status — Whether it's available for booking
For hourly resources: You'll also need to add an Acuity Calendar ID to enable scheduling.
Editing a Resource
Click any resource to open its detail page. The form is organized into eight tabs.
Details Tab
The essentials: what the resource is and where it lives.
- Name — Display name shown to customers in listings and booking pages
- Status — Controls visibility and booking availability (see Status Meanings)
- Available — Toggle off to mark the resource as temporarily unavailable without changing its status. Unavailable resources show as "Occupied" to customers but remain Active in the system. Use this for cleaning, temporary closures, or setup periods
- Type — Read-only after creation. Determines billing model (hourly vs monthly) and scheduling integration
- Acuity Calendar ID — For hourly resources only. Links to the Acuity calendar that handles scheduling
- Description — Public description shown on the booking page. Include features, equipment, and what's included
- Notes — Internal notes only staff can see
- Marketing Featured — Check to highlight this resource on location marketing pages
- Location — Which facility this resource belongs to
Physical Tab
Where the resource is located within the facility and its dimensions. Dimensions matter because they're used to calculate pricing when you don't set a price override.
- Floor — Which floor the resource is on
- Wing — Building section (Red Wing, Blue Wing, etc.). Used for organizing and access control
- Width / Length / Height — Dimensions in feet. Width × Length = square footage for pricing calculations unless a square footage override is active (see Pricing tab)
- Size Category — General classification (S, M, L, XL) for filtering on the public site
- Max Occupancy — Capacity limit shown to customers
- Non-standard shape — Check if the space isn't rectangular (affects how square footage displays)
Pricing Tab
How much customers pay. The tab is organized into rate configuration at the top and a live pricing preview below.
Rate configuration:
- Rate per square foot — Used to calculate price from the studio's dimensions. Set this here to override the location default, or leave it blank to inherit from the location. Disabled when a price override is active.
- Override square footage — Studios only (hourly and monthly). Check this to enter a square footage value that replaces Width × Length in all pricing calculations. Use this when a studio has an irregular or non-rectangular shape and the bounding-box dimensions don't reflect the actual usable area. Unchecking clears the override and pricing reverts to Width × Length. Physical dimensions are preserved for display and floor-plan purposes regardless.
- Peak Multiplier / Peak Hours — Hourly resources only. The multiplier applies during peak hours (1.5 = 50% more). Set the peak window in the location's timezone.
Pricing preview (read-only, always reflects current rates):
- Base Price (No Fees) — Square footage × rate, before any fees. This is what the location receives. When a square footage override is active, the summary line shows both the physical dimensions and the override value — for example,
40' × 30' (override: 1500 sqft).
Prices are then grouped by payment method into two cards:
Card group:
- Base Card Price — Base price plus card processing fees. Monthly prices round up to the nearest $5.
- Peak Card Price — Hourly resources only. Base card price during peak hours.
- Override card price — Check this to enter an exact card price for all lockouts at this studio. When set, rate calculations are ignored for card payments.
Bank Account (ACH) group:
- Base ACH Price — Base price plus ACH fees, rounded up to the nearest $1.
- Peak ACH Price — Hourly resources only.
- Override ACH price — Check this to enter an exact ACH price. Independent of the card override.
Credits group (hourly resources only):
- Credit Price — Card price minus 10% credit discount.
- Peak Credit Price — Peak card price minus 10% credit discount.
When you set an override for one payment method, the form suggests a matching price for the other method based on exact fee math — you can use that suggestion or enter a different value.
Price changes take effect immediately—customers see the new price right away.
Placements Tab
Assets physically placed at this resource, like equipment or furniture. This tracks what's in the room.
- Click Add Asset to place an asset here
- Click the trash icon to remove a placement (the asset goes back to inventory)
Images Tab
Photos of the resource. The first image becomes the cover photo shown in listings.
- Add images — Upload photos showing the space
- Reorder — Drag to change display order
- Remove — Delete images you no longer need
Upload images up to 20MB in JPEG, PNG, or WebP format.
Groups Tab
Assign resources to groups for organization and filtering. Groups can represent:
- Physical areas (wings, floors, sections)
- Logical groupings (all monthly studios, all equipment)
- Access zones (for door access configuration)
Customers can filter by group on the public site.
Reservations Tab
Read-only list of all bookings for this resource. Click any reservation to view details.
System Tab
Technical details and dangerous actions.
- Resource ID — Unique identifier (useful for debugging)
- Created At / Last Updated — Timestamps
- Acuity Calendar ID — If configured
- Cover Image URL — Direct link to the cover photo
- Delete Resource — Permanently removes the resource (see Deleting a Resource)
Changing Prices
Open any resource and go to the Pricing tab to adjust rates.
Override vs Calculated
Calculated pricing — Leave overrides empty. The system multiplies the studio's square footage by the rate per square foot. Square footage is Width × Length unless a square footage override is set. Changing the rate adjusts pricing for all resources at that rate.
Price override — Check Override card price or Override ACH price (or both) to set exact amounts. Overrides are per payment method, so you can override card while leaving ACH calculated, or vice versa.
When an override is active on one method, the form suggests a matching price for the other method based on exact fee math. You can accept the suggestion or enter a different amount.
To remove an override, uncheck the checkbox—pricing reverts to the calculated rate.
Status Meanings
| Status | What It Means |
|---|---|
| Active | Available for booking, visible to customers |
| Inactive | Not available, hidden from public |
| Maintenance | Temporarily unavailable, shown with status indicator |
| Coming Soon | Not yet available but visible on public pages |
Deleting a Resource
Resources with existing reservations cannot be deleted. Cancel or reassign those reservations first.
To delete:
- Open the resource detail page
- Go to the System tab
- Click Delete Resource and confirm
Deletion is soft—the data is preserved but the resource is hidden.
